«dann hat sie mich gefragt, ob ich ein baum bin» (eng. then she asked me if I were a tree) deals with identity and origins. the protagonist explores memories and projections from childhood.

the starting point are tools and a name book. a table, a chair, tools and a microphone. the performer sits at the table and tells stories. The performer shares memories from the past, desired scenarios, and visions of the future, whilst something keeps cracking, breaking, crunching.

the projects moves between a reading and a performance with sound experiments.

«dann hat sie mich gefragt, ob ich ein baum bin» is a scenic space based on the performance of the same name and designed using text, images and sound. for the duration of the exhibition, cabane b is transformed into a body – or a forest – in which gender identity, family and origin are negotiated and stories are told about the past, wishful scenarios and ideas for the future.
